Prospect Research Report

I am working on creating a prospect research report and am wondering if you create a Note that details all of the information that Gift Officers want and/or create a guide to show them which panels have this information. I would like to do the latter so I don't have to duplicate information or update this information as new becomes available but I know that may not work. Thanks for everyone's thoughts. By the way, these gift officers are more inclined to look at webview in-lieu of database view.

I think the biggest thing is something you mentioned which is keeping the information updated. I think in regards to prospect research, I don't know how I would feel about adding this information to the record outside of the rating panel, which is designed to keep to hold this data. Depending on what tool you're using, I'd look to import this data there. I think the note field can just become a minefield of data that gets dropped onto records without any cleanup, which is not ideal or optimal.


The nature of prospect research is very much a snapshot in time, and as such the data has a relatively short lifespan. I don't think it's a good idea to put what is generally temporary data by nature in a space without having a plan on what you would do with it after it becomes stale and outdated.

Dariel, Thank you for your reply. Interesting idea with ratings. We normally add their Wealth Engine ratings here but if it would work to add a profile report, I am game. I just looked to see if I could add some kind of report here but it appears to limit text to 255 characters in comments. The reports they want would be two pages. Here's a blank report sample Research Report Template.docx which may be better saved as an attachment. Ideally, I would like each MGO to reference the panels and skip the forms but I think that may be some time from now.

Something like this would have to be saved as an attachment. Which is fine. I just think that there needs to be a plan in place for this data if you plan on attaching it to the record. Would you go in and delete the data after it's no longer useful?

For what it's worth, I would strongly recommend getting Target Analytics Affluence ratings so that all this information can be configured in the dynamic list views in RE NXT like the screenshot below (Real data, fake people). The info gets updated automatically annually or when you refresh / rescreen in Research point and then it syncs back to RE NXT you can use the "Summary Note" feature in RE NXT for your researcher to provide nuance and human context to the data for your active, major prospects:

Great idea...we don't have ResearchPoint. We did the demo but it just didn't work out. I will check to see what it would cost to get the ratings.
