Deferred Estate Gifts Tagged as Overdue Pledges
Wasn't sure where to post this question - so starting here!
The Tagging system in NXT is tagging the deferred estate pledges of still-living donors as "overdue". We book these commitments as pledges before the donor passes as part of our system of tracking anticipated gifts. They aren't booked as gifts for the obvious reason that we don't yet have the gift and the donor retains the right to revoke their intention at any time.
Wondering if others have seen this issue and found a way to stop these tags from appearing?

Hi Anne Bennett - Not quite sure how to fix this but, have a few thoughts of what might work...if you try the following ideas, what happens?
- Mark the pledge 'completed'
- Leave the installment schedule blank
- Set the gift date years in the future

I think like what Austen Brown stated, the best idea would be to put the due date many years in the future. That would make the pledge not overdue at all.3

Austen Brown and Dariel Dixon,
Thanks so much for your replies - sometimes it's the most obvious answer that escapes us! As of yesterday we'll be adjusting the anticipated/due date out to the end of this century on existing pledges, and further as needed for new deferred estate pledges received. We'll be moving these records into the Planned Giving module later this year which will also help.
Thanks for pointing me to a fast and easy fix!!0 -
Anne Bennett, if we have a birthdate for the constituent we have started using the SSA's life expectancy calculator to create a "due date". We are hoping that it can help our Planned Giving officer have a somewhat better idea of future funds that are expected. Not perfect but it get the tags out of the way.1

Hi Anne
My organization has entered all planned gifts as pledges in RE as well.
I'd love to hear how your project to move these pledges to the planned gift module goes for you.0
