Textbook Providers

Does anyone use a 3rd party textbook store that integrates with Blackbaud LMS (EdTech Solutions, eFollet, TextbookHUB, etc.)? Our teachers currently use a mix of print and digital textbooks from various publishers. After trying solutions 7+ years ago, we gave up and just provide our families with a digital textbook list that links to where they can buy their books (Amazon, Apple iBooks, etc.). We're now swinging back towards trying to find a way for families to login to Blackbaud LMS and see the books they need to buy for the classes they're enrolled in. Would love to hear about experiences. Thanks!

  • We are looking at TextbookHub (https://www.textbookhub.com/wp-content/cache/wp-rocket/textbookhub.com/index-https.html) because it integrates with Blackbaud.

  • We use McGraw-Hill digital textbooks through an LTI connection to Blackbaud LMS. You basically link each LMS class to the correct textbook they use, and then a nightly integration extracts the class rosters from Blackbaud and provisions a digital textbook license for each student. As students are added/removed from rosters, the integration adds and removes the licenses. Students can click on the digital textbook from within the LMS class and are single-signed on directly to the content. Teachers can also link to content from within the LMS.
  • Thanks for that info. Some of our texts are through McGraw-Hill so we will definitely look into this option. Was there any sort of additional fee from McGraw-Hill to make the integration work?
  • No, I don't believe that there were any associated fees.
  • Check our my writeups about McGraw Hill and Savvas (Pearson) e-texts.

I encourage anyone currently using their products with manual teacher and student account creation to take a look. Will save hours of work and headaches.

Has anyone else been successful with other publishing platforms?

@Megan Day - we use TBH and having them handle our book deployment has been the best. We used to spend so many hours deploying multiple platforms. The TBH services have been a game-changer for us.
