What is the best use of attributes for funds for specific campaigns?

I'm not quite sure what you are asking here. You can set default values to connect campaigns, funds, and appeals, but that is different functionality than Attributes.

If you let us know what you are trying to accomplish, I'm sure there will be quite a few suggestions!

Well, I have not used attributes before and I realize that this field is for the “extra” information that RE doesn't have a field for. I am thinking of applying them to either our funds or appeals (or both) as I am setting them up for a specific campaign.

We use fund attributes for a couple of different things, the main one being to record which faculty controls a specific fund (useful for fundspending). We have another one to store previous fund IDs, as we sometimes change them to match what's in our finance system (not integrated with RE) and it's useful to have a bit of an audit trail so we're not scratching our heads about where a particular fund has disappeared to.
