Re-enrollment

I have a question regarding re-enrollment. In the old EE days, when it was time for re-enrollment, I changed all the enrollment statuses to 'pending' for the next academic year and only rolled them over once a contract was submitted. Now, in EMS, all students remain as students so it's really hard to for the divisions to know who is 'in' and who is not. This year, when we did our year-end roll-over, I withdrew anyone who hadn't submitted a contract so they won't show up as current students and receive a schedule, etc. But, get this, past parents can't access contracts so, in order for the kids to be able to re-enroll, I have to re-enroll them. Yes, that's correct. To be able to submit a re-enrollment contract, I have to first re-enroll them. Is that the craziest thing you've ever heard? Anyone found a way to do enrollment statuses to help with this? Am I completely missing something about the re-enrollment process? Can anyone help!?

  • I believe in one of the recent product update emails there was the mention of being able to add holds for various reasons. I haven't personally used the feature yet but it looks like you can restrict access to schedules/course requests/etc: https://webfiles.blackbaud.com/files/support/helpfiles/education/k12/full-help/content/sis-holds-settings.html

It's possible you might need one of the Holds Manager roles assigned if you don't have access yet.

  • Hi Troy, Yes! Thanks! We can (and do) use the hold feature to restrict their access but they still show in our system as students; they are on directories, in our numbers, etc. I really wish they would bring back the ‘pending re-enrollment status’. Just putting them on hold doesn't really serve the need.

  • This is our first year with BB and so I am going to follow this discussion as we will probably need the same solution come June-September 2022.
