Inbox Messaging

Our School wants to start using Inbox Messaging heavily this school year to reduce the volume of emails. The question that our teachers are asking is how do other schools deal with not having the option to forward messages to administration or blind copy them on communication. The concern is that if we only use email for those types of interactions, it would defeat the purpose of a “blind copy”

  • Hi Casey,

We are new to Blackbaud, and still in the setting up phase but this is my input after going through trainings and re-reading about Inbox Messaging.

When selecting Compose Message, The To field lets you add people or groups to receive the message, adding the name(s) of the Admin would solve for the cc' option. By selecting Enable Reply to All, you allow recipients to have the option to reply to all of the people in the message so the Admin can reply if warranted. It doesn't solve the Blind Copy issue though. For that, I would have to agree that having the messages go through your company e-mail is the best option to forward the messages alternatively.

I'll play around with this more and let you know if anything else pops up :)

  • I like that Gregg, either is a good option. the messages are unique threads based on subject and recipient list. I'm so glad to hear people are adopting this now though! And as always if there are additional needs for enhancements we're always scanning the idea forum for activity so if you put something out there and it gets traction we'll consider continuing to add onto what we've done. Thanks for your feedback!
