How do donations come through web forms?

It's been a long time since I looked at this! How do donations come through via web forms? Are they sales orders? Can you edit the designation?

Hello Margaret

An online donation does come in through as a sales order and has the the sales order (which identifies the sales channel and the “application” of the donation) and then the payment component.

If your organization has received online donations, the easiest way to find some online donations is to open your “Total Revenue and Payments Report” in the Revenue module (if you have access to that report) and set the date interval to a long period but restrict the channel to just online sales (screenshot from a sample database):

You can then click on the “Order” to get details on the order. As per screenshot below you can then click on “Go To Revenue” to edit the designation on the order:

You can then edit the designation on the donation:
