Our Advancement Office is going to RENXT, but our Business office is staying with FE...anyone out there have this situation?

Hello, I am wondering if there are any private schools or non-profits that have this similar situation of their Advancement office converting to RENXT but their Business Office isn't. I am concerned about the process of batching gifts, as our Business Office does post to FE and how to do this manually since we won't be integrated. Is there a process for this? Any information or advice is welcome, thanks.

Thanks,

I've worked with organizations in that situation and there really isn't a problem. They need to have the webview versions of each, but like having RENXT, it does not mean that you need to use webview only. As you may know, you can't do everything in webview that you can do in database view, so users still use database view almost exclusively depending on their role.

All of the batching and posting for those organizations is still done in RE database view anyway, so there was no disruption.

  • When we migrated and talked through the mechanics, the main issue wasn't so much with our business office using NXT, as it was having both departments either hosted or non-hosted. As long as both of you are hosted or non, the addition of the NXT webview is a minimal issue.

We did end up switching both our depts over to NXT, but we still do all our gift posting, record updates, and financial processes in our respective database views due to superior functionality. Only our fundraisers really use NXT, and our Development Director who likes the instant reports. Other local orgs I have spoken to do the same.
