Updating Weekly Newsletter Format: Looking for Best Practice Tips on Using the News Function

Good morning,

Currently, we use Pushpages to create and distribute three weekly newsletters to parents (one to each of our divisions). Since content is built directly within the Pushpage template, we spend a lot of time creating and recreating information if it needs to be shared through other channels, and the newsletters tend to end up quite lengthy and looking like a CVS receipt. We would like to streamline the workflow by beginning to use News content types that can be published throughout the week and then inserted as a content type in the weekly Pushpage newsletter.

I was wondering if anyone else uses this approach to their newsletters? If so, do you have any tips and tricks, or best practices for gathering, building, and sharing content? How do you organize your news page? Right now we are not using the news function at all, so parents will need to be trained.
