Reconciling with RE and Financials System

We are new Blackbaud customers and trying to work through reconciliation between Raiser's and a Oracle's Finance Cloud. We are using PostOmatic to pull data for the GL. Question, anyone with a similar setup (not using FE) and how do you go about your reconciliation? The recommended reports from Raiser's Edge don't seem as though they will be fully helpful to us (ex. the Account Distribution report). I'm looking to pull a report broken out by each account and noting whether the transaction was a debit or a credit. I've come close with RE Export, but my export list both the debit and credit account numbers. How would you know the transaction was a credit vs a debit?

I would not worry about debits and credits and RE. RE is not financial software, and shouldn't be forced into trying to be so. If you can get a good report or query to detail your gift information, that should be enough. Let the Finance department worry about if it was properly debited or credited. Your part is to make sure the dollars and fund designations match, nothing more.

Well, the debit or credit on the Finance end would be based on how the gifts are processed on our end in RE. I think I was able to come up with a solution though, which is essentially the list of transactions, also including information such as whether or not their was an adjustment, amendment or write-off. I spoke with our Controller, and we believe this should work. Additionally, they also have access to the initial PostOmatic exports out of our database, but pulling the transactions directly from RE would ensure that something didn't get missed with PostOmatic.

I think we should be set. Now just need to work through credit card reconciliation with the payment gateways, which has been quite a process on our end in the past.
