Does anyone know how to do an Import of large amounts of data returns from alumni directory project?

You could possibly use the built-in RE import function or plug-in ($) products like ImportOMatic and Importacular.


The biggest factor IMO is what info do you have? Do you have RE ID numbers in your data? Is it data in a csv or excel sheet? Or individual files?


I would suggest a training on how to use which ever import functions is available to you. Import is an 'exact science' type of project. Always test with 2-4 records first to be sure all is landing where you want it to land.

If you have the Constituent ID, Import ID or SSN, then you can do this with RE Import. Otherwise, you may want to look at a third party tool.

Importacular offers a free version that will update the Constituent record (Bio1, Bio2, Contact info, etc.), but if you're not familiar with importing, you will definitely want to take advantage of the training tools on their website first.

JoAnn's advice to test with a few records first is spot on.
