Inactivity deactivation and BBID?
In this week's release notes there is a new incativity deactivation for accounts, maybe just parents? Is this only for accounts on legacy authetication or does this apply to BBID accounts as well? Do BBID get deactivated after inactivity as well?

Any account, BBID and Legacy, that has been inactive for too long is eventually affected.
BBID has done this for a while. It will continue to have a 6 month period.
Legacy accounts will now expire after 365 days. This is new.

The implications of this are going to have a huge impact on our fundraising and events. I was told by BB support yesterday that “once an account is disabled the individual will no longer receive any communication” via Blackbaud.
We have numerous Grandparents, and Friends of the school who have never logged in to the website. Also, we have Alumni, and Parents of Alumni that no longer have a need to log in but all of them receive our Pushpages and support the school. This policy is going to force us to go outside Blackbaud for our group communications. There has got to be a better way to address the security issues Blackbaud is needing to fix without cutting off our means of communication.
I am very disappointed that they have only given us a week's notice to deal with the situation it has created for us. I'm not sure why we couldn't have had a longer grace period.

We're changing the date for when this update will happen.
We originally announced it would take place on August 31st.
In this coming “What's New” letter (the one that we'll publish on Monday August 30th), you'll notice that the date is no longer mentioned.
Please stay tuned to future release letters for the new date and any additional information.

Thank you for delaying the date of this change. I really hope they will find a way to allow us to continue using Blackbaud to communicate with all of our school community past and present. Even if it meant us removing usernames, it would be worth our time to be able to keep in contact with them through Blackbaud.

I'd actually like to follow up on this statement from support: “once an account is disabled the individual will no longer receive any communication”. I have no issue with inactive accounts being disabled. But if a login is disabled, that person doesn't get pushpages or official notes? I just don't believe that one. We have plenty of “accounts” with no login information at all that get communications. If a disabled account doesn't get any communications then that's a much larger problem - a parent messing up their password and getting locked out suddenly is also blocked from communications for a time period? I think we need clarification on that from someone who knows.

With all due respect, changing the date of a rollout does NOT address the problem with faulty semantics.
Can’t you all rethink this, based on this feedback??

Hi @David Gillespie - in today's release notes it says:
“Users whose accounts are locked or disabled for inactivity will continue to receive PushPages (Newsletters), emails, and notifications that they’ve opted into. "
