Good morning! A colleague of mine is unable to edit her own assignments. When she tries she gets a message saying “Error saving assignment.” No other teacher is having any issues with this.
Any thoughts on what the issue is?
Hi Katie!I've had some teachers report issues with this as well. What tended to be happening was that they were missing a required field in the assignment itself. Have you been able to see a screenshot of the assignment setup before the error? Hopefully your colleague just needs to complete some of the field for gradebook entry, etc.
If a Faculty member/Teacher role also carries a persona that does not have access to edit assignments, ie. Student. Then they can encounter this error. The teacher would need to have any conflicting personas updated. If a student persona exists then it would need updated to Alumni, so that the system will allow the user to edit assignments.
One of my teachers just had the same issue, “error saving assignment.” They taught French and had set their browser (Chrome) display UI to French. The UI is expecting (mm/dd/yyyy) for the assignment date but got (dd/mm/yyyy), giving an “unexpected” response error when submitted.
Blackbaud has the case. Hopefully, they’ll resolve or post a KB.
@Peter Cox Would love to know what you hear back from BB. One of our teachers just started experiencing this yesterday. If I impersonate her account on my own computer, I don't have any issues. But she can't save or edit assignments on her laptop in both Chrome and Safari and on our classroom MacMini in Chrome.
