How would you write a query to find out when donors started giving to a particular fund? We want to recognize donors who have given to our child sponsorship fund in particular. Thanks
The quickest (laziest! ?) way I can think of would be to export a list of all your gifts for that fund, sorted in date order from oldest to newest, then deduplicate them on constituent ID in Excel - it'll leave each person's oldest gift and remove all the rest.
Or, you could create a query that includes everyone who has given to that fund, and then link that to an export and use the "first gift" export fields to get the date of their first gift to that fund - you'll need to specify the fund again on the filters page of the gift criteria, otherwise you'll get the date of their first gift to any fund, not necessarily the one you're interested in.
