"Process Inquiry" auto-email trigger for candidate

I'm surprised that when we process an inquiry, there's not an automated email sent to the candidate to let them know that their account is ready to be accessed. This seems like something that would be easy to program, and it's a big missing for us since we must now send these emails manually. How else will the candidate know when it's ready?

How are other schools managing this limitation?

What we do is process the inquiries then go to “generate usernames” and create the usernames and send the email out there. It's a bit clunky to be honest.

Being able send an email with username and log in instructions while processing the inquiry would be way better and take away all those extra steps. A checkbox next to “Username” or above “Do not create user account” if we want to send the email would be great.

Hi Tamara, the option to have an automatic email go out when creating users is available for schools who are using EMS BBID. It can be turned on now if you head over to your application settings, or it will be turned on for everyone in July 2022. The username generator will be going away when we turn EMS BBID on for everyone, so at this time it would only be a short term solution.

Hi Sarah - Is it possible to start doing this for new EMS users now and slowly move the current ones over to BBID until July 2022?

I read that if we want the parents to use the inquiry first then have access to the application checklist, with the application, we go to our inquiry form to “opt-in” for bbid. But I don't see it so I have a ticket in with support. If this is incorrect, please advise. Thanks, Coco

Hi @Coco Parham you'll need to have BBID for EMS turned on to see the inquiry setting. First navigate to admissions set up>application forms>BBID Opt In. Once that has been turned on, the setting to automatically send the BBID notification email for your inquiries should already be turned on- but you can check by editing the settings for your inquiry form.

Hi Christy, your existing users will be prompted to create a BBID when they go to login for the first time if EMS BBID has been turned on.

Once last question: Once we turn on the opt-in for BBID, will the candidates that have already logged in be prompted to BBID authenticate at their next login or do we have to invite them through Core?
