Adding Appeal to online transaction

I sent out a recent membership appeal and some folks have purchased their memberships online. Is there a way to tie their membership purchase back to the appeal? I haven't been able to find the marketing section. Thanks!

    That's a great question. I don't believe you are able to add an appeal to a payment that originated online. I'm most familiar with the donation side of things, but I believe this is true of membership payments as well. I wish you could. There is a suggestion on the Ideas forum that you might want to vote for.

    If you created the Appeal list in Altru, then there should be a record of the Appeal Mailing on the constituent records of the people on your mailing list. So one thing you could do to measure the effectiveness of your appeal is to run a query of constituents that received the appeal (people that have the Appeal Mailing on their record). And then look at membership revenue from that selection of folks over a given time period. So looking at who got the mailing and has a membership transaction in the following 90 days.

    Hopefully that helps a bit.

  • Thanks for the insight. Thankfully there was a discount code for this appeal as well, so I'm able to track that way. I was just hoping to pull an easy report!
