Assigning BBID to non applying parent of candidate

We are new to Blackbaud and have EMS up and running while we implement the SIS. My question is about the non-applying parent of candidate and how/when you assign them a BBID.

We have a form that both parents need to sign in the system once we have accepted them. In order for the parent who did not do the application to complete the form they need a BBID to log in to the system (they cannot go back to the application screen and create an account or it starts a new application). How and when do you assign them a BBID so they can compelte the forms?

    Hi @Patricia Krueger - if you go to enrollment management > admissions > Blackbaud ID authentication > Unregistered you can invite those parents who don't have a Blackbaud ID set up.

    Each parent needs to have a unique email address on their record to have a BBID account.

  • @Patricia Krueger, similar to what @Bryan Lorenzo said, though I don't send emails to them. My process is as follows:

    Enrollment Management > Admissions Management > Generate user names > Role: Parent of Candidate

    I do this periodically through the year/admissions process. It helps reduce the number of duplicate records (okay - aspirationally [is that a word?!] but perhaps not in fact - lol!).
