Merging Designation Paths

Has anyone merged Designation Paths in Altru? If so, how did that affect organization of historical data once the merge was complete? We have many designation paths and are considering reducing the paths.

    Hi @Lisa Chai!

    That is interesting! I wasn't aware that you could merge designations in Altru. Is that a function within Altru? Or are you working with Blackbaud and re-translating your designations and then importing them back into your Altru?

    Do you know if you are able to test some scenarios in a Staging database first? That would be a good way to see how things shake out without affecting your Live data.

    That's a really neat project. Lots to consider. I wish you luck. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the merge project after you're done.

    Chris,

    After a chat with Altru, we cannot merge designation paths in an effort to simply our path designations. We can choose to utilize fewer paths going forward though. Thanks for your reply.
