Recognition Credit

Hi - We would like to be able to include some recognition credit types in our smart fields. Does anyone know why the choices are grayed out and how to activate them? Thanks, Tamara

  • Hi @Tamara Christensen!

Under the Parameters tab, you'll want to adjust the second dropdown (the For dropdown). Since it looks like you're going by Household information, I would bet you want Household Member Revenue Recognition. The recognition part will unlock the Recognition Credit Types section.

Just to add three other things:

    • For my Smart Fields, I don't go by Household. I use Constituent Revenue Recognition. I wonder what the are differences there. Just the implications of choosing Constituent or choosing Household. I also wonder what happens if the person is single and not in a household. I don't know exactly what you're going for here, but just throwing it out in case that helps in any way.
    • I see you have Revenue Types checked and then also have Transaction Type/Application checked as well. I think that maybe Revenue Types will override the Transaction Type. When we set up our initial Smart Fields, Blackbaud advised us to skip Revenue Types and only use the Transaction Type/Application. So you may want to do some testing on that. But on mine, I have zero Revenue Types checked and go just by Transaction Type/Application.
    • Also want to share that the Application Selection at the bottom helps Altru know which designations to count for this Smart Field.
      • Like if there is some revenue that should not count toward the constituent's (or household's) giving totals you could make a Selection of designations that are not one of… and then you list the designations to exclude.
      • Or you could go the other way. Like, just for example, you wanted to see gifts restricted to Capital projects or specifically to support the Ball Conveyor and the Ball Maze. You could just do “is one of…” and then only list the designations you wish to include.

  • Thanks Chris!

    This is really helpful information!
I may have more questions later…
