Is it possible to combine Two Prospect Status Codes into one (see photo)?

I was reviewing a webinar the other day - Tips and Tricks for Tracking Grants with Taylor Francis. I don't know when it was shown originally. In the beginning, she was talking about streamlining opportunity status codes, but working with the major gift team to establish policies and keep opportunities separate and labeled correctly. The image is what she showed below.

I, for the life of me, can't figure out how to get my status code to look like that? Can anyone help?

That was a great webinar! I am pretty sure it was first presented in July 2021, so not that old. I wish Blackbaud would be more transparent about that - it makes a big difference!!

You would need to add those table entries in database view. Go to Configuration | Tables and then find the table Proposal Status which is the opportunity or - grant - status in this case. Prospect Status is the other table that you may need to update.

I would add to make this a bit clearer that you just simply add ---Grants--- and ---Major Giving--- as new table entries. Then you do have to sort the list manually using the up/down arrow to categorize the values. We've done that to categorize our Action Note Types as well to group for Grant actions vs Major Giving actions. I've also done this to organize the hellish table known as Addressee/Salutations…it really helps (I categorize by Prim Addressee, Sal, Couple Addressee, Couple Sal, etc.

Thanks for the clarification! For some reason, I was convinced there was some way to combine two separate tables into one….I'm still a newbie!

You can combine 2 table entries into one using the Table Cleanup function. Don't know of any way to combine 2 tables.
