Blackbaud University "training path" for teachers, operations, etc.

Hello all,

I am trying to put together a training resource for onboarding new faculty/staff, to map out how to access Blackbaud University and access the courses that will be most pertinent to their specific functions within the system. My worry is that if I do it now, the courses/information will be outdated or dead links by the time our new teachers come in June/July. Hopefully this will not be the case, and blackbaud will stick with their current learning platform until then. I want to be as explicit and concise as possible without putting a lot of effort into something that will be obsolete before it's used. How do y'all handle this?

Hi Lauren!

This is something I know has been discussed at BBU in the past. Currently, the offerings within BBU tend to be geared more towards administrators and users with higher access levels in the system. For example, the courses on Course Creation and Course Content are intended for your Academic Group Manager, not individual teachers. There are bits and pieces of many courses that teachers could likely benefit from, but in my personal experience most teachers do not have the prerequisite knowledge of other areas of the K12 system to benefit from most of the instructor-lead sessions.

There is one course called “A Day in the Life of a Teacher” which focuses specifically on tasks teachers will need to complete in the system on a daily basis. I really hope BB creates some more teacher-specific curriculum at some point because I would also LOVE to have my teachers take advantage of our Learn Everything subscription!
