Mail Merge - SQL Command - how to stop

I have successful created a master template for all 8 acknowledgement letters and so far crossing fingers it is working. My question is how can I stop the SQL command pop up message when I use the master template to merge to edit individual letters? I have to say yes for each gift.

Hi @Barbara Kunkel - These pop-ups have to do with the security settings on your Microsoft Products, specifically Word. @Bill Connors covered how to turn this off in the resource guide on his website (https://billconnors.com/msinhosting/); you can read through his thoughts on this at the bottom of Q9's response. Bill includes a link to instructions provided by Microsoft on how to turn this off this feature.

  • Hi @Austen Brown Thank you for the explanation of these annoying pop-up messages. @Bill Connors provided an amazing resource guide. I missed the last part in Q9. After reading Bill and the link, I don't think our IT will remove it for security reasons. I will just have to mute my computer and click away. I do really appreciate your help in answering my question.

  • @Barbara Kunkel, a long time ago, our IT had the dialogue boxes enabled for security reasons, but after sitting down at my workstation while I was in the middle of a merge process, and seeing the boxes popping up first hand, our IT director removed the setting of his own accord. Security is a top priority for our IT staff, but they do care about efficiency too, and sometimes seeing is believing. Just a thought.
