JustGiving - Duplicates and additional entry

We launched JustGiving last year and were looking forward to integrating and less manual entry. However, we have many duplicates that are causing additional work and more to add to each constituent. Is anyone else having this concern or have a solution?

  • We have this problem as well. We have had JustGiving for a couple of years now and I love it however there will be dupes. When we set it up we were told that the system looks for First Name, (and variances of that name), Last Name and Email. So we always end up with some dupes. If its a name we recognize we go ahead and link to the appropriate person at gift entry. Then we do the cleanup after the gifts have been approved. We noticed that if the clean up is done too early then the donor details are not there and the gift was marked with a triangle error message. This may have been fixed now.

    We also end up with dupes with NetCommunity.

    Hi Lindsay Lewis - This is a by-product of the Automatic Constituent Matching tool in Web View (Click here to access the KB Article with more information on how it works). As Angela has mentioned, you will need to add constituent review into your gift approval procedure for Web View batches. I also recommend that you create a maintenance query that looks for new constituents added to your system, to be reviewed regularly (weekly, month) as a double-check.

    I just ❤ it when a donor enters "John and Jane" for first name, "Doe" for last name. Creates a duplicate Every. Single. Time. ?
