Campaigns Funds and Appeals

I've worked with RE at a non profit for many years. Recently, I moved to another non profit and trying to clean up their database. They do things a little different. What is the correct way to use the Appeal? Before, I always used the appeal to show why the donation was made. For example, if a letter for Golf was mailed, the assigned appeal would be “20XX Golf”. If a gift was received, it would be entered as appeal “20XX Golf” and the package would be “sponsorship” or “event fee”.

Currently they use appeals for what I would use packages. Just curious what everyone else does?

Hi @Darlene Ellis, I have worked for two organizations that use Appeals, as you have noted you are familiar with. I don't believe there is a right or wrong way as long as your organization is consistent with using Campaigns, Funds, and Appeals.
