Planned Giving Tracking

Does anyone have planned gift tracking procedures that they are particularly pleased with? We are using the module as suggested by BB, but running into some issues. For example, with two-life bequests, trying to fulfill the commitment if it ends up coming from the person who we didn't put the initial PG on. We're also a little frustrated with not being able to link to the payment from the original planned gift (strangely, you can link back the other way).

Anyway – before we try to figure this all out on our own, I figured I'd check here to see if anyone had come up with some great ways to make the system work for you. Thank you!

@Joe Pauwels, can you simply move the Planned Gift record to the surviving spouse's record when the first spouse dies?

You may find Business Rules helpful to provide consistency. We've implemented a Business Rule so that anytime our staff post a gift to the record of a constituent owning a Planned Gift, it opens a reminder prompting them to check for unfulfilled planned gifts. Gifts are then linked during batching, which works well for us. Imagine you could do a similar Rule when deceasing a Planned Giver, to remind them to move the gift intention to the surviving spouse.
