Trying to end date duplicate email addresses using Constituent Update Batch

I have about 500 email addresses (from conversion) that are an exact duplicate of another active email address with the exception of the system record ID. However, when I attempt to end date these (which also happens with Addresses and Phone Numbers) I get “The email address you entered already exists for this constituent” error. Is there any way to work around this?

  • Have you considered creating a custom tab with multiple delete option to just delete these duplicates?

    What Lois suggested, you could delete the duplicates via a data list or another option is to add an additional email type “Duplicate” and add that to the duplciated email addresses.
