How to Construct a Greater than $5,000 Gift Report

Hi, I need to run a report in NXT that shows all gifts of greater than $5,000 from a fiscal year. I would need donor name (no soft credit needed) and address, gift amount and gift date. When I run through Gifts, it won't give me the address; when I run it through Constituents, it won't give me the giving from the fiscal year. Thanks in advance, Trent

Do you really want each gift? Or name of donors who gave cumulative total of that amount?

If you want each gift, you'll want a gift query. This will list a person more than once if they gave qualifying gift. Each gift is listed.

If you want each person only once, you want to create a constituent query. You're just getting a group of records at this point so focus on the Summary Gift criteria (near bottom of criteria list) Summary amount greater than or equal to $5K. Be sure so specify you gift types (pledges? payments?). Also filter as needed for funds. Run the query. See if # looks right. Output names if you want to spot check to see if it's pulling expected records.

Then go to the Export function and which ever query for and create that type of Export. Export the name / addressee fields, address, gift information for which you are looking.

If you go the constituent route, for the export, select Gift > Gift amount and specify # of gifts, date and set the range amount. Also select the fund field to display.

You can actually run a Gift query listing any ID/Name showing one to many Gifts with amt GE $5K ( filtering on the appropriate gift types, funds, Timeframe, etc)), export the query results, dedup on ID#, import those ID#'s into a Query, then run a constituent Export using this query showing those Gift IDs in their own column with any needed gift attributes so that there is only one row per ID#.

Yes. Apparently the address can't export from NXT. Running it old school from DataBase view.

You can export addresses from the constituent lists in NXT. As someone else suggested, if you want the list of gifts you would have to do a gift list…but it won't give you the address info. If you have a more complex query you can create the query in dbview, save as a static then open it in NXT.

Trent, you can't really do this in NXT. Gift lists won't show addresses for some reason. This decision by the NXT designers is something that doesn't make sense. We've been waiting years for IT to fix this mistake but with no luck. Sure, you can download a gift list and then go into the dataview and enter those RE IDs and create a static query and then go back into NXT and run a constituent list to get the addresses and then do some spreadsheet magic to combine with the gift list. But during the time you run the gift list and then the constituent list, what if a new gift is entered that should be in the gift list? It's best to pull this all from the dataview.
