Editing a Pledge

Hi everyone,

So my dilemma is, can you edit a pledge if it has pledge payments? For example, let's say we receive a gift for a pledge payment, but the gift is more than the balance. Can you change the amount to match the gift so the pledge isn't over? Can someone please help me with this?

    That's a tricky one. I thought there was a setting in Altru about this, but I can't find. I may have been confusing that with settings from our previous system. Anyway.

    I might talk with your Finance/Accounting team to see how they might like this handled. I believe my team would keep the original pledge amount the same and then just create two payments. One payment would fulfill the pledge. The second payment would be a new payment that would be the difference, the remaining amount that came in.

    Changing the initial pledge amount could throw off revenue in historical reporting or might be something your auditors may raise their eyebrows at. Or maybe not. Just something that your team may want to discuss.
