User's login changed to supervisor login-Solution!

To begin, this gal does not have supervisor rights and her permissions were not changed. Since Friday, when trying to get into database view, she gets a login prompt with supervisor filled in as the user and asking for her password. She's restarted the computer several times, tried changing her password in web view, but that hasn't helped. Same problem when she tries logging in using a different computer.

Why did this happen and how do we rectify it??

Update: She says this happened after the other admin helped her add postal saver.

Conclusion: She contacted BB Support and they gave a knowledge base article which was a very easy fix this morning! For anyone else with this issue:

  • We get that occasionally - we use Windows Authentication so it should just log us in without prompting for a username or password, but from time to time users get the Supervisor login screen instead. It seems to happen when RE can't find our actual database, for example if we've forgotten to connect to the VPN first. I usually just close that window, make sure I'm connected to the network properly and try again.

Alan French, we must login to Novell to have access to the computer that hosts RE. The other admin and I do not see why this has happened or how to get her normal login back…

  • The only mention of this issue that I can see in the knowledgebase is to overtype the Supervisor username. What happens if she does that and enters her own username and password, does she get an error message? Or do you normally use Windows Authentication?
