Parent and Student Access to Grades and Transcripts

This is our first year finishing up with Education Management K-12. I am wondering how long parents would have access to the end of the year report cards if/when I progress students to the next grade. They receive access to the final report card/transcript June 6. If I do the end of the year progression to 2022-2023, does that end their access? How does it work?

They will have access to them as long as their access date is in the past and you do not delete the access date. This is the wonderful thing about K-12, grade reports do not get “archived” and become inaccessible as they did in EE. To see a previous year's grade report, a user just needs to select the grade (year) they want to view, and all of the grade reports for that year are accessible.

We also give grade report access to “All school teachers” so current teachers may review the grades and comments of a student's past teachers to see trends and help the student.

    Hope this helps.

    All the best,

    Scott

  • So, just to make sure I understand, the “Edit current school year's access” gives access to the 2021-2022 report card and doesn't affect 2022-2023, which will have to be set separately. Is that correct?

@Candi Roberts - You are correct. Access for report cards are set by academic year. Granting access for the 2021-22 academic year does not grant access for future years.

The access dates for previous academic years should be left in place if you want the student and parent to have access to the previous year report cards.

For the parent to access a previous year report card, they go to the student's page, select the appropriate grade level, and then select one of the available report cards. Students go to the Progress page and select the grade level.

If you publish a transcript to students and parents, the same process applies.
