BBID enforcement for parents and Gmail accounts

Hello,

We use Gmail on the backend for our school email accounts and we use SSO. I have heard from a colleague at another school that parents that have Gmail accounts are having difficulty converting to BBID because the system expects them to use SSO since they have Gmail accounts. Is this going to be addressed?

We have the same problem with Microsoft SSO - if a parent has a O365 account it wants to go through our microsoft SSO - our workaround is instructing the parent to use a private/incognito window and it has helped us!

Hi @Cheryl Costello - so, if both the student/parent login on a shared device that will happen. The parent might see your SSO login page and they need to click on “Use a different email address”.

Tagging on to Bryan's response - end users ARE able to use a Gmail account to log in to BBID even if your SSO authenticates with gmail. I use my personal gmail to login with BBID so I can run Connect RE - have not had an issue with logging in.
