Event registration gifts not linked to Events

Hi all,

We recently created an event registration form for a free event and added the option for donors to donate to our organization during registration. Unfortunately, after the gifts are approved and saved to RE, they aren't linked to the event. From within the database view we have to manually link the gifts to the event and update the campaign and appeal. Am I missing something here regarding why gift defaults aren't set?

I approached Chat Support who offered no help. Is this another one of those areas where Blackbaud has released functionality that doesn't work well in reality? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi @MaryKathryn Odean - Are you utilizing an Online Express Event form or a NXT Event form?

Hi Austen - this is an NXT event registration form. We use NXT event registration quite often for free events but only recently enabled the option for donors to make an optional gift.

Additional donations through an NXT event form, in my experience, are automatically linked with the event record. They do not come through with a Campaign or Appeal though, that will have to be manually edited in Web View prior to approving the batch or corrected once the gifts are committed in Database View.
