Online RE Volunteer Form

We are trying to figure out how to create an online form (in NXT or Online Express) that does not involve a donation, but would allow someone to enter their name and contact information if they would like to be a volunteer, for example. Has anyone figured out a way to do this?

The best I'm coming up with is to have a free transaction and then have the “donor” indicate interests in a comment box. That being said, I think you'd be better off using some other kind of form that's not through OLX, such as QuickForms, to do the job for you.

There is not a way to do this using Raiser's Edge native functionality. There was some discovery a couple of years ago around the idea non-transactional forms, but it vaporized.

One idea would be to do this as an Event in NXT and collect the information in an event registration form. It will allow you to have free registrations. If you have different types of registrations, you could set them up as different registration levels with no fee attached. It would allow to capture names, contact information and even volunteer interests. It would populate as an event registration and add them as a constituent.
