EMS BBID Required 7/26/22

As most of you have probably seen when logging in. BBID will be turned on for all EMS users on 7/26/22, which means that any new candidates and parents of candidates will need to create a BBID in order to login.

I'm attaching a pdf here that includes FAQs and instructions for setting everything up. It's not difficult, but there are some pieces that you will probably want to customize before everything goes live. FYI- there are certain pieces mentioned in the document that can only be viewed if you have opted in, so if you're not seeing them, you'll need to flip that toggle. To date we've had 394 schools opt in!

Hi Sarah - Thanks for the pdf for EMS BBID requirements. Can I ask how a school would proceed if Enrollment Management is only used for signing the contact and going forward from that point? Potential candidates don't submit Inquiries or use Apply Now at our school. In previous years, we would use the generate usernames button before contracts were sent to new families to create the username. I have noticed that the generate usernames button is no longer available within Admissions Management. Going forward, would we manage BBID auth from the Security menu in Core? And base it off of those on the Unregistered tab with role = Parent of Candidate? Thank you for clarifying!

Hi Leslie, great question! You'll be able to invite your parents of candidates/candidates via the admissions drop down> BBID Authentication. It's the same list as what's available in Core, but will send the custom admissions invite located under communications>notifications.

Great, thanks! One further question comes to mind when thinking through the scenario. I would not want to connect all users with the role= parent of candidate. I would only want to connect those who have been accepted or waitlisted. I don't see that option in the filters. Or, maybe I would connect all with role= parent of candidate but just don't send the automatic email? Then those who weren't accepted would never know they have a Blackbaud username. ?? The Admissions department could inform those who have been accepted to log in to Blackbaud to accept the contract using their email address. Thoughts? Really appreciate it!

Hi Sarah,

We see the BBID opt-in toggle on the Enrollment Management/Admissions Setup/Application Form, but not on the inquiry form. Our users have to log in to start the application form. Will there be a way to auto-send the BBID email when we process inquiries? It is mentioned on the pdf, but I do not see it as an option in the settings on Enrollment Management. Thank you!

@Kristin Napier - you can enable BBID on your inquiry form.

Enrollment management > Admissions setup > Inquiry forms > click settings next to the inquiry form you'd like to enable BBID for and toggle the “Connect and invite new users to BBID?” option on.

Once you process the inquiry form it will send them the EMS BBID Invite. If you ever need to make edits to the email you can navigate to Enrollment Management > Communication > Notifications > EMS User Invited to BBID > Edit.

Hey Bryan - thank you for replying! That is not an option on our settings inquiry form. Are we missing an update?

Hi @Kristin Napier - you need to toggle BBID Opt-in to “ON” under Enrollment Management> Admissions > Admissions setup > Application forms. Once you enable this you will see the option on your inquiry form settings.

Hi @Brian Hoyt - the EMS deadline is still 7/26/2022.

The deadline for current employees, parents, students, etc was moved to 9/27/2022.
