Enqueue. What is it?! Is anyone using it?!

The mysterious Enqueue tab under Business Processes.

I searched the CRM Manuals and found nothing.

There's not much in the community either, except a mention of running multiple processes at once and marketing efforts.

Is anyone using it? How is it set up (it needs a username and password) and what does it actually do??!!

  • @Liz Hackett after it is set up users with access can schedule business processes to run without needing a sys admin to do it for them. We use it for a few things but you'll need to watch the processing time on some of them.

  • @Liz Hackett
    Boston University uses it
I'll use acknowledgments as an example to explain.

If someone runs an acknowledgment process and another person tries to run one, the second person will get an error message saying “the process is already being run”

With Enqueue enabled the first person can run the acknowledgment process and then the second person can run it. The second process will be put in a queue and will run when the first persons process is finished running.

    I hope this helps

  • @Mike Cicerone Thanks Mike, very useful! that really helps ?

  • @Christina Provost Thanks Christina, much appreciated. Thanks for the warning as well.
For the UserName and Password to set it up, I assume it needs someone who is a Sys Admin?

  • @Liz Hackett yes, our IT team enabled it and then we were able to add the enqueue processes.
