Password resetting issue

What are everyone's strategies, plans? Will you send an alert email? I almost think, for my members they will be ok. Though of course some will be confused. Thoughts?

  • @Regina Holten I'm very grateful that BB revaluated the situation and made changes based on our feedback in the original post. We are leaning against sending out a blanket message to all members. We think it may actually cause more confusion, especially if they are only required to update the password once a year. (I'm still not sure why it's required, when the password doesn't allow them to actually make changes to their profile.)

    I suspect it has a lot to do with the 2020 ransomware incident at Blackbaud. Any compromised accounts are bad for business, no matter how small the perceived risk might be.

    That said, as much as it will create customer service issues, I support whatever it takes for Blackbaud to push through any cybersecurity measures needed so they can get back to improving the functionality and features of their products.
