First time donor report

Is there a simple way to run a weekly report on first time donors (aka new donors)?

If you're in the db view start with a constituent query where first gift = this week (or last week) and then you can take that query and export any info you'd like or create a report using something like the Gift Detail and Summary report under financial reports. If you're in NXT, create a constituent list with the filter being first gift = this week (or last week) and then select whichever columns would work best for your needs.

You can pull more specific info with a query as suggested by @Matthew.

    Db view:
Or you may want to try Reports > Analytical Reports > First/Greatest/Latest Gift Report. Set gift date to ‘last week,' any filters, gift type details etc. Can pull addresses if desired.

  • @JoAnn Strommen Thank you. Is there a way to set this list list up to automatically get sent to my colleagues on a weekly basis?

  • @Matthew Nareff thank you. This is so helpfu!

First let me say this is an area in RE which I'm not very knowledgeable.
If you have queue, you could possibly set it up to run weekly with an email to team member, but my understanding is they have to retrieve report.
Webview also could have the report configured but again my understanding is that user would need to open/view it have another staff member download and send.

The only things you can do that are automatically emailed are the canned reports in NXT and those can't be based off of queries or lists. You might be able to do it with Power Automate if you're familiar with how to do that. Otherwise it just has to be a manual process.

@Jolynn Uyehara - Utilizing Power Automate and the Notification Flow in the Template Showcase, you could possibly set up a version of the notification flow to send this information out automatically to your staff. Check out this blog for more information on the Power Automate option -

  • @Jolynn Uyehara Could do this easily with SmartSYNC - we have email connectors and NXT connectors and summarise tools so reports like this are very easy to do. Email our support guys support at smartthing.org if you wish to find out more.

  • @Jolynn Uyehara WE do this in the dataview with a simple query that pulls all first gifts based on the gift date of “last week.” Then we run an export with the fields we need. It's a manual process. We had a Queue set up but Queue stopped working for us when we merged databases after our health systems merged.

I just tried it and it's pulling ANY gift in the last week, not a FIRST EVER gift.

@Joy Prevost I'm assuming you are talking about the db view report. On detail tab dId you select only the First Gift column?
