Hi all,

Tldr; Is there a way to generate a QR code specific to our organization that could go directly to the Venmo app?

So it looks like Venmo has now been added as a payment method for donation forms, which is great! Thank you, Blackbaud.

Right now it looks like the donation process is:

1. Fill out the donation form
2. Select Venmo as payment method (Venmo is not an option when using a mobile device)
3. Scan QR Code in Venmo app and complete transaction.

I'm wondering if there is a way to generate a Venmo QR Code so that the process could be:

1. Scan Venmo QR Code
2. Complete transaction in Venmo app

We're trying to reach younger donors and small time donors who might quickly scan a code + donate, but might be put off by filling out a donation form and going through the multiple steps across multiple devices presently required.

@Evan Webb I think that process would circumvent Blackbaud all together. That would be going straight to Venmo, if I'm understanding the issue correctly? I would then imagine that you would have to manually enter those gifts into RE though.

@Evan Webb - When accessing a form via your cell phone, you can select Venmo as a payment option and it will redirect to the Venmo app on your phone to complete the transaction - no QR codes involved. QR code process is only for desktops.

@Austen Brown That sounds like a more streamlined processed, but you must be seeing something different than what we're seeing on our donation form. For us, this is what we see on mobile:

Perhaps this is a difference between Online Express forms and NXT forms? We are using Online Express.

@Evan Webb - This is what I see when viewing a form with the PayPal/Venmo integration enabled via my cell phone; I presume it is an OLX form based on how it loads. And after I click Venmo, I'm redirected to the app to complete the transaction. I am using an iPhone on IOS 15 with Safari. I know there is a current issue with iPhones on IOS 16, not being able to see the Venmo option.

After our board insisted on us “getting Venmo” I did some research. Campuses that use Venmo typically are using an application that allows Venmo payments. Those applications still have a form because the Advancement department needs the information as to who is donating and how the gift is designated. Using just Venmo is not an option because there is no way to track those things. The ability to pay by Venmo is a convenience for the donor, but honestly there is no way around the form.

I'm having the same issue as @Evan_Webb, on my cell phone (iPhone 8+ running iOS 15.6.7)

I don't have a Venmo option, just like the screenshot above. Could that be because I don't have the Venmo App installed?

@Joan Schutt - Yes, it could be that or that the phone I used is on a different version of IOS 15 (15.3.1).

@Austen Brown Thank you for your help with this. I'm glad it is showing up for you and others on mobile. I presume this will end up getting rolled out to all mobile devices/browsers at some point. I'll be patient. ?
