Recurring Monthly Gifts and Their Matches from Third Parties

How do you handle entering recurring gifts from a third party, like Benevity, that are disbursements from more than one constituent, as well as their respective matching gifts? Can I enter them in a batch or must I enter them one-by-one? I've considered several different approaches, but don't yet have a handle on what is best. Thanks

    Hi Michele, it is pretty tricky!

    We process the payment on the giving organization record (aka Benevity) through “Add a Payment”.

    I process each disbursement at once with multiple donors credited. We have an unrestricted fund called "matching” which I use for any matching gifts.

    In the recognition credits, I add the individual donor as “a soft credit" for the amount they donate. I then add their business (like Google) with a “matching” credit for the amount donated. That way we can notify the donor that “we received a matching gift from their employer via Benevity in x amount”.
