Complete Cover

Hello,

I want to draw attention to and raise some ethical concerns about BB new Complete Cover. After multiple meetings where we received various pieces of information about Complete Cover, we were pleased to see that the Complete Cover was immediately applied to our fundraising platform for donors to see. Upon further review though, it appears that the Complete Cover is more like donor cover, “lets donors voluntarily contribute toward Blackbaud for this service.” It starts donors at a 10% and then allows them to drop it down to 0%. This is highly unethical and very misleading not only for organizations like ours but for donors who may not have known that a fee was being taken. What are others thoughts on this?!

@Jordan Lesniak CDE Completely agree. Until the process is very clear to our donors, we will not be implementing it. Thankfully, after auto-enrolling us, the process to un-enroll was easy.

@Jordan Lesniak CDE I complete agree and would take it one step further, the default should be to NOT participate. The Donor should have to check the box if they want to make the extra donation.

Totally agree. 10% default addition is WILD and to say that it all goes toward our nonprofit is not true. If every one of my donors chooses to add 10% then that amount will definitely add up to more than the 4% processing fee, and straight to BB's pocket, not ours.

The proof that this benefits BB more than us is in that they auto-applied it to all of our active forms. ?

@Dan HoutReilly do you have to unroll on each form or can you do it in bulk?

@Nerolie Rayson When I first log in to Church Management and navigate to Donation Form Designer, there is a blue bar/notification at the top of the screen to disable ( actually now its enable) Complete Cover on all the forms. After I've closed the bar it does not reappear until I log out and back in. I clear my cookies when I close my browser, so you may need to do this as well, if its not appearing for you. I am an Admin so I do not know who all this will appear for.
