Dupe Button

Before I put an idea up, does anyone else wish there was a check for dupes button? I remember using it in RE long ago (unless I'm remembering wrong). It was so helpful.

@Regina Holten Are you referring to duplicate constituents? There is a process to run a duplicate search and then merge based on the amount of information that matches. It doesn't allow for individual records to be run rather it is a system-wide maintenance task. Also, when adding a new constituent an alert will pop up if Altru thinks the constituent already exists based on similarities in the information entered to try to reduce duplicates (but they are inevitable).

@Meghan Dye THANKS! Does this alert pop up for online customers…say they can't remember the last time they had a membership so just go in and add information about themselves..they live at the same address say and have the same email - will it stop them from creating a dupe? i get a little confused by the whole threshold meter…this is why the … press the dupe button would help, at least me, back end. ha! i haven't really delved into it as a maintenance task in Altru - it is a bit of a big job for me to do while I'm only concerned with my 6K member names…

@Regina Holten I had to change the threshold when we started online orders because there were too many dups and what it is set at current works pretty well (see below). I'd be interested to see other people's settings. - Tamara
