Dashboard - Donor Giving Analysis

Hello! I'm trying to pull information about how many donors have increased their giving from last fiscal year. Although Blackbaud has a Donor Giving Analysis tile for the dashboard, I can't verify the number of increased donors that Blackbaud counts. When I manually count people who have increased giving, my number is far off from the auto-generated number. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to pull an accurate list of increased donors or how to verify the number from Blackbaud?

@Andrea Martinez Have you looked at db view Reports > Analytical Reports > Comparative Report? Compares 2 time periods to determine increase/decrease. On format tab you set whether you want to see increase/decrease or both and how you want variance to display.

@JoAnn Strommen That's how we're currently pulling this information, but I was hoping there was a way that I could see that in the dashboard that I'm creating to monitor our goals. Thank you for the solution, though!

Is this a pre-built insight in Report Builder? I'm curious where you are finding it! I often struggle when comparing database-view data with any dashboards or insights in webview, and don't have enough time to go through an exhaustive comparison to find the gaps.

@Karen Diener The Donor Giving Analysis is a pre-built panel in the database-view dashboard builder under Gifts. As JoAnn pointed out, there's also a more in-depth, pre-built report in database-view under Reports > Analytical Reports > Comparative Report that will show you the giving of individual donors over selected timeframes.

OK. I was looking in webview since you used the words “tile” and “dashboard”. Thanks for clarifying that it is database view.
