Tracking fundraiser strategies

Hello!

I would like my fundraisers to be able to track their prospect and gift strategies in RE NXT. I was thinking of using Actions but noticed that since the only options are all communication types, it might not be the best place. I'm wondering if others have stored this data in RE and where you have them file it?

At one job, we used a notepad with specific type. There was one for Cultivation Strategy and one for Solicitation Strategy once the prospect moved to that stage.

If the strategy changed, the gift officer changed the notepad type to “Cultivation Strategy - Former” on the current strategy, and then added the new strategy using the “current” version of the notepad. There could be multiple “former” strategies, but only one “current” version. No way to have the system allow that, but it was not a problem.

Fundraising staff wanted to be able to see the history, and this allowed them to see multiple strategies over time. But it allowed only the current one to be exported for reporting purposes.

I haven't worked with any other organizations who had that robust of a fundraising team, so that is my only offering right now!

Hi Krista! We use RE/NXT as our database. The gift officers track their fiscal year strategy as a Note in NXT with a type we created called “Devt Strategy”. The date indicates the date the strategy was entered. The Summary field states “FY23 Strategy (name of gift officer)”. The strategy is entered in the text box. We can run a report from RE of the Notes Type so the gift officer and their manager can review the strategies.
