Automated Recurring Gifts - change campaign/fund

We are evaluating whether to move to RE NXT (from on-site RE 7) and are looking at using the new Blackbaud Online Forms and automated recurring gift functionality in Web View. However we need to change the campaign and fund of the recurring gifts each year. Are you able to change the campaign/fund of an automated recurring gift in Web View?

@Kerry Kelleher - We use the NXT donation forms and automated recurring gifts. The automated recurring gifts are one of our favorite features of NXT and save us a ton of time. You can update the campaign and fund of the recurring gift as needed either individually or through a global change. It can't be done in NXT, but you can easily do it in database view and probably the same way you do updates now. For us, the automated recurring gifts through NXT have saved us a ton of time and simplified things for us and our donors.

Thanks so much for the input! Without being on NXT it is hard to tell what can or can't be done in Web View. It also seems like things are constantly changing and so when I am reading of some limitations, it might be that those are no longer limitations. I remember reading somewhere that any gifts put in through Web View cannot be changed in Database view. And so I thought we wouldn't be able to use our current process to Amend recurring gifts or Adjust regular gifts if they are entered through Web View. It is all very confusing until we actually move to the system so we can see for ourselves.

Thanks for your response so that I know we will be able to utilize the Automated Recurring Gift feature which seems like a very good selling point!

You can change gifts processed through NXT but can't delete them. Instead of deleting a gift, it must be adjusted to $0. However, one of the things that you can do in NXT is move a gift from one constituent to another which is actually a cool feature. But, my favorite is still the automated recurring gifts. As you do your evaluation, feel free to reach out if you have any questions, etc. We have been on NXT for several years now and migrate processes as functionality comes on board. Good luck!

@Kerry Kelleher you can change the campaign and fund on a recurring gift in NXT through and amendment, there is a button to “Amend” just like in database view. Hope that helps. I like NXT but I definitely rely much more on Database view.
