Health Office and Records Management for Faculty and Staff

Our school nurse tracks all student visits to the Health Office in Blackbaud under the Medical module, “Nurse's Office”. However, we feel the school nurse should track all faculty and staff visits to the Health Office in BB as well, and is not able to. Teachers' names do not come up under the Nurse's office when she tries to record a visit. Since she dispenses medicine to all employees (Advil, ibuprofen, etc), we feel it should be recorded. How can we include faculty and employees in the “Nurses' Office” module in Education Management? When we called Customer Support, we were told this was not possible but it seems like an easy fix within the system. Has anyone else working in a school using BB feel this is a necessary tool that should be added and recorded?

Here's an idea. We've used this in the past [with EE]:

• Create “student” records of all of your employees. e.g. for Smith, John, a teacher, create a student
  record and call it something like “staff_Smith, John”.
• Enroll the “student”, maybe put them in a separate “school program”
• Have the nurse put her entries there. [actually, you may not even need to enroll the student].
• An added benefit to this is that you can record attendance for your faculty this way and use normal [student-based] reports to track.

All this should take is a little data….[and data is cheeeep!]

BTW, the easiest way to create all those student-faculty records is not use the import feature….

@john ronan Doesn't this wreck havoc with your records count? Sounds like this would require considerable workarounds when building advanced lists, Pushpage distribution lists and more. Does your school use the full K12 package?

@Lauren Marcus Eisenberg I voted. We are looking for this too. It is so important to track this and it should be in BB where the records are.
