Error Message when Parent tries to SubmitAdmissions Application

Parents are getting Error Message when trying to sign/submit admissions application. The error is tied to Custom Fields and Ed. Support. This is affecting nearly 10% of this particular application - with no rhymn or reason. SOS! Anyone else experiencing this issue?

  • @Lauren Marcus Eisenberg are they receiving an error message or are the additional text boxes just not appearing after they enter something? I reported an issue that our parents are experiencing where they answer yes to one of the logic-based questions like receiving educational support, enter an explanation in the text box that appears, but then the box disappears once they move on. The text they entered is saved and appears when the application is viewed as a pdf/processed but it's obviously causing parents to think that what they wrote wasn't saved.

  • @Troy Burki Actually, in my working with families, I've seen both of these scenarios! The parent cannot submit the application regardless of whether they indicate yes or no to a logic-based question. In my test with a mock applicant, I indicated no to all of the logic-based questions and wasn't able to submit! ?

  • @Lauren Marcus Eisenberg We've had a problem with this on our recommendation forms, but not on the application. I wish I could give you better news, but I've gone around and around with support and they could not replicate the issue. It sounds like the same issue that I reported, or at least something very similar: in our case, the person completing the recommendation is unable to submit with accurate information and has to click a wrong answer just to get it to go through.

I've tried everything I can think of to fix it, including rebuilding the entire recommendation from scratch, with no luck. I hope you're able to get yours working correctly! (And if you do, please share your secret!)

  • @Brian LeBlanc Yikes - haven't experienced this with our recommendation forms - I hope it's not contagious.

  • @Lauren Marcus Eisenberg This is not happening yet. BUT, we have a case where the primary parent information is not loading on the application correctly. For ex: it is putting the step-parent on there. The step-parent is not marked as primary parent either (I need a shrug emoji here). Support is working on it.

  • @Brian LeBlanc For what it is worth (something, let's hope!), support was able to duplicate this and I demonstrated during a screenshare.
