Assign Contract Type - changed for the worse?

I just noticed that “Assign contract type” options have changed this year. Last year they were in a List format, which made it easy to see which students were staff kids, etc. But this year, it is a wizard which doesn't have as many options. So it looks like, if we are assigning a different contract for faculty kids, we have to go through the whole list of students and manually uncheck the faculty kids. There is no way to say “community connection = NOT a child of faculty” or a way to select only students who do not already have a contract signed.

This seems like a step backward in the functionality - last year was so much easier because I could add a column in the List that showed whether they had financial aid, or whether they were a faculty kid. Am I missing something?

We are struggling as well. Why can't we filter based on the contract they were assigned last year?

  • @Oona McKnight @Trudy Howard In my opinion, the easiest way to assign contract types is to use the assign contract types import under Core → System Tools → Data Import → ReEnrollment → Assign Contract Types. You can download a template file and then fill in your student information and which type they should be assigned.

In terms of previous contract types, you can do an export of your contract list from last year and then just update the school year and remove attrition/students who graduated.

  • I second the recommendation of @Troy Burki.

I think many folks are a bit squeamish about imports, but they're incredibly useful….

  • @Trudy Howard Same here! We have over 20 contract types, so it's already complicated. Why can't we filter on the current year contract type?
