Conduct setup - Set up Staged Consequences for repeat infractions

Hello.

We are looking to set up a set of infractions but we are having trouble figuring out how to set up the thresholds up so that they each add together and have a different consequence.

what we al looking for is something like the following
1 infraction - student and teacher are emailed
2 infractions. - student and teacher are emailed + Detention
3 or more infractions. - student and teacher are emailed + Detention + Parents are emailed

If anyone has suggestions that would be very helpful!

@Stephen Draper - I missed your question when you posted it several months ago.

What you are describing involves a combination of several parts of Conduct Setup: infractions, consequences, and thresholds.

We have a similar progression of consequences for unexcused absences and tardies. You can read about what we do in this doc. It should give you some ideas about how to do what you're looking for.

A couple of things to keep in mind:

It appears to me that there is only one kind of points used for triggering thresholds. You can't have attendance points, dress code points, and “other” points. It's all one bucket of points.

We chose to have all infractions that result in points require manual approval before the points are assigned. It's easier for us to review and approve an infraction than it is to undo the points and the associated consequence for an erroneous infraction report.
