Shared Address

Our organization has multiple campuses and have employee relationships to the campus where they work. When creating a Relationship to the campus, it creates a shared address. However, we need to mail to the specific suite, floor, or office number.

How do you manage keeping the employment relationship while limiting the business address to the specific address with suite/floor/office number for mailings? Currently, I have records with 2 business addresses - the shared business address and a duplicate business address with the specific suite/floor (if known).

    @Aimee Holland Was hoping for a reply today with great solution. I have the same issue. Started a clean-up to link employees to one main university address/record. I put dept with their position in that field. Only got part way through the “A”s when I realized it would not work as our campus mail wants department clearly on all mail and most mail we generate we do not include the position in the address block. Agh! So our employees remain as unlinked relationships.

    Will be following to see if someone has a great idea.

    @Aimee Holland This actually can be done and I do it with our organization. Once I linked the employee to the ORG record, I change or add some info on the employee relationship address and then when the box pops up to say “This address is shared with at least one other record”, I choose the 2nd option of “Change the address on this record only (this address will not be shared with other records).”
