Forgive me, I don't understand the question. Do you mean, how long do we keep a rating on a record?

If so, then it depends on the type of rating. Wealth screening we keep perpetually until new wealth screening is performed to replace it. RFM ratings are re-calculated annually. Affinity ratings also are re-calculated every year or two. Basically, if it's something we do in-house or have automated software for, we try to reassess them every year or two, but if it's a paid service that we don't expend on every year, then we keep until new data replaces it. Ideally a donor wouldn't go more than 5 years between even the paid ratings assessments.

@Jackie Gerry Yep, like @Faith Murray we generally keep any rating or wealth capacity data on the record until it is replaced by the same or similar data. We DO make an effort to make sure everything is dated, so we generally know when a rating was added or looked at. We think of this way: if someone had a wealth capacity of $1M+ five years ago there's a pretty decent chance that hasn't changed much.

That being said, we DO also try to do new screenings and deeper dive research into all prospects before we assign them out. Ratings are a good start, but there are always other factors that can overshadow simple wealth scores and ratings. Things don't always work out perfectly with our limited resources, but that's what we aim to do.
